Not all of the races listed are voted for in Precinct 1052, but this is a considered list of my Dallas County endorsements.

My endorsement list only includes candidates who have a Dem competitor in the Primary. In the unchallenged races, I endorse the Dem candidate, in almost all cases. There are a few races I’m not weighing in on, but feel free to reach out for my thoughts if you don’t see all the races on your ballot here.

Send me any questions. I also encourage voters to do your research and go with who you like. The Primary is an essential part of our democratic process to bubble up the strongest candidate. Each of our votes matter.

If you live in Texas, but outside Dallas County, feel free to reach out for my candidate endorsements in your area. Always happy to help any fellow Dem in TX find their way to their candidates and organizing community.

A candidates I’d like to call out in races that are special to me are:

  • Colin Allred is not as progressive as I am, but he’s represented us well in CD32, shows up to do organizing work on the ground, has raised the $$ needed to beat extremist podcaster cruz, and he flipped a longtime red seat to blue when he won. He never had a single poll say he could win, but he trounced Sessions. Let’s do that again this fall to cancun cruz!!! I think being a moderate who has had success with bipartisan legislation makes him a great statewide candidate.

  • I’m proud to endorse Julie Johnson for Congress (CD32). I’ve known her & her committed team since we stuffed lit for her back in 2018 - when she flipped her longtime red seat. Since then, I’ve followed her legislative prowess and we’ve become friends. Julie is the only candidate with legislative experience, ready to pass good legislation and block bad bills on Day 1, just like she has, even within the minority party, during session in Austin. Hers will be a historic election! The first openly LGBTQ person from The South, not just TX, but all of The South! Plus, she’s endorsed by everyone, including Beto and Wendy, and has an F rating from the NRA. Here’s her DMN endorsement.

  • Elaine Campbell is a close friend. As the precinct chair for Deep Ellum for years, she’s mentored me and I’m so excited to see her run for office!! After working in global finance at Moody’s in NYC for years, she moved home to Dallas to follow her passion organizing and lifting up the marginalized and has been doing so fulltime since then. She’s ready to represent all of Dallas in our Tax office, with fresh ideas and the lived perspective of an African American woman. I believe electing more Black Women to leadership roles is sure to make our world a better place!

  • I’ve endorsed Lupe Valdez to be Dallas County Sheriff again because she was made for the role. I have always liked Lupe personally, she’s a warm welcoming person with the humanity, ability to listen and build consensus for reforms. Plus, she’s been personally endorsed to me by both law enforcement officers I know AND friends who run organizations serving our incarcerated community members.

  • Theresa Daniel is a committed commissioner, serving us well. I appreciated seeing her at so many mutual aid events during the pandemic and winter storm Ari - handing out food, water, and other resources when needed, as well as assisting with testing and vaccination clinics. When we need our elected officials to show up and do the work for the people - Theresa does.

Thank you for considering to vote for my endorsed candidates!! Again, LKM if you have questions!
